Statement
www.ClaudetteMcDermottFineArt.com As an artist, I'm used to working endless hours in that Creative Mode where I thrive. I strive to be unique while learning and sharing with other artists. Working with a multitude of media over the years I've recently settled on Encaustic Hot Wax and Resin, switching back and forth in the last 5 years. Adding Street Fairs to my resume, I find it so fulfilling because I get to meet the people who purchase my work and bring smiles and atmosphere to their homes and offices in the most positive ways.
Biography
Born on Oahu one of the Hawaiian Islands, with her blood in my veins, I've been pulled to create Ocean and Floral imagery in my work. While I also create with other themes, returning to Ocean and Floral work, gives me great joy. I first began as a child with pencils and crayons on my bedroom walls, I now have grown into an artist who enjoys experimentation with all art forms including but not limited to: Oil, Acrylic, Mixed Media, Metal, Encaustic Hot Wax, Resin, Wood work, Glass work... but most recently Encaustic Hot Wax paintings and Resin Art & Functional works.
I've been exhibiting in the SF Bay Area and try to keep it to an hour radius in juried exhibitions. I've sold my work online as well, so my clients have been all over the United States and beyond. I've won Ribbons and Awards, but there is no greater honor than when clients are compelled to purchase my work, to hang on their walls in their homes and offices or gift to friends and loved ones.
